Dr. Laura Kernick
Laura enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially internal medicine and surgery
Laura joined our vet team mid – 2022 and has enjoyed getting to know the local area and the community. Originally from Ireland, Laura graduated in 2016 from University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. After graduating Laura worked in Yorkshire, England in a small animal clinic and although it wasn’t quite ‘James Herriot’ style she really enjoyed her time there.
After 3 years, Laura and her husband took a short career break to travel throughout Asia and SE Asia before arriving in Melbourne at the start of 2020. Covid helped her get comfortably ‘stuck’ in Australia and after working in a variety of emergency and general practice clinics in Melbourne feels she has found a good fit with the team at Eltham Vet.
Laura enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially internal medicine and surgery, but particularly enjoys building a bond with her clients and patients alike.
In her spare time Laura enjoys exploring the outdoors, time with her family and travel to new places.
